Momentum True Wireless 2 cost
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 costs $ 350. Headphones in black can be purchased in April, while a white model will be released at the end of 2020.
This cost is much more expensive than the top-end Sony WF-1000XM3 wireless headphones for $ 230. To outperform Sony's best-in-class headphones, Sennheiser's latest models will have to offer fantastic noise cancellation and superior sound quality.
Momentum True Wireless 2 Design
The new wireless earbuds (TWS) are very similar in appearance to their predecessor. The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 features shiny round touch earbuds. The design of the metallic finish looks sleek and stylish, but it doesn't look pretentious and ostentatious. Inside, the earbuds look good, the charging contacts and LEDs are gold-plated, which speaks of the quality of their pairing.
However, if you have small ears, you will find that due to the round shape of the housing, the headphones are uncomfortable as they are rather bulky. And after listening to music for a long time, the ears can swell and hurt a lot - they cut too much into the skin.
Of course, not all users will face this problem, but keep in mind that if you have small ears, the earbuds will be too large for you to enjoy using them.
If the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are perfect for you, you can use them as running headphones. Since they are IPX4 waterproof, they are not afraid of moisture in the form of drops of sweat or rain.
Momentum True Wireless 2 Case Design
The charging case has a stylish look with a gray fabric finish. On the back there is a USB-C charging connector and a button that, when pressed, tells you how much battery power is left in the case, using a small LED:
Colour | Charge percentage |
---|---|
Red | up to 20% |
Orange | up to 75% |
Green | up to 100% |
Sennheiser says the Momentum True Wireless 2 is 2mm smaller than its predecessor, and thanks to 3 additional ear pads, you can find the perfect fit.
Battery life
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 battery life is longer than its predecessor. The first Momentum model had a weak point in battery life. The Sennheiser Momentum battery lasted only 4 hours on a single charge and 28 hours on a charging case.
For example, Samsung Galaxy Buds + headphones offers up to 11 hours of music on a single charge and the same amount on a battery case.
Sennheiser has solved this issue by increasing the battery life from a single charge of the Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones to 7 hours, and from the device case 21 hours of charge. These are not the best numbers for TWS, but they are a big step forward.
Is there Momentum True Wireless 2 noise canceling?
Besides the better battery, the big advantage of the Momentum True Wireless 2 is its Active Noise Canceling feature.
By pressing on the touch-sensitive headphone body, you can toggle between noise canceling on, off, and transparency mode, which allows ambient sound and noise to seep through the bumps. This is very convenient if you are using headphones for work and it is important for you to hear what the people around you are saying.
Connection and management
The connection of the headphones to the smartphone is provided thanks to the support of the new standard for wireless data transmission Bluetooth 5.1. Over the course of my review of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2, I saw a quick connection to the phone, and the audio quality during calls is much better than expected. Although Sennheiser has always been renowned for product quality.
Using touch controls to tweak music playback, change volume, and switch between noise canceling settings is pretty smooth.
Act | Function |
---|---|
Single press left earphone | Play / pause or accept / end a call |
Single press right earbud | Call the voice assistant or accept / end a call |
Double click the left earphone | Change music track to the next track or reject a call |
Double tap right earbud | Activate audio transparency or reject a call |
Triple click left earphone | Change the music track to the previous one |
Triple click the right earbud | Activating the noise canceling function |
Hold the left earbud | Decrease volume |

How do I get started with the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2?
The company's website contains detailed instructions for working with the gadget:
- Waking up and charging. Place the headphones in the case and plug in the power.
- How to wear? Insert the headphones and rotate them slightly; use the set of ear cushions for a precise fit.
- Pairing. Hold the headphones for 3 seconds to pair with the smartphone via Bluetooth 5.1.
- Application download. Download the Sennheiser Smart Control app to customize your headphones and music playback.
Momentum True Wireless 2 sound quality
The highlight here is the Active Noise Cancellation mode. This feature enables listeners to enjoy incredible sound quality even in noisy environments. And this is combined with a transparent noise function that allows some of the ambient sounds to be heard by you. This feature is becoming an increasingly necessary feature of active noise canceling headphones.
The Momentum True Wireless 2 also features 7mm dynamic drivers, built-in EQ and Sennheiser's Smart Control app. In the first Momentum model, they worked very clearly, and during the review, the new Sennheiser headphones did not work either.
However, the main issue here is cost. Due to additional features including active noise cancellation and longer battery life, the Momentum True Wireless 2 will cost $ 100 more than the previous ones.
During our review of the Momentum True Wireless 2, we were impressed with the sound quality of the headphones. Listening to rock music, the gadget skillfully handled hard synth bass, clean, smooth vocals and textured highs that didn't sound too harsh. When it came to low frequencies, it became clear how dramatic the sound was in these wireless in-ear headphones.
Note that these Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones cannot boast of a wide soundstage, but they also cannot be called closed sound, since there really is a lot of clear music details.
Momentum True Wireless 2 review summary
In terms of sound quality, battery life and connectivity, we are very impressed with the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2. The gadget has become a real breakthrough compared to the first Sennheiser model and can even compete with the Sony WF-1000XM3 in terms of sound quality (taking into account the cost, sure).
Although the design and fit of the model have also improved, they are still terribly uncomfortable for small ears - the whole problem is the size of the case.
What features can be distinguished?
According to the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review, these wireless earbuds (TWS) have every chance of becoming one of the best wireless earbuds of 2020!
With aptx in the Momentum True Wireless 2, the sound is the same as through wired headphones, the channel allows you to transmit flac. These are already stereotypes (
aptX is just a codec, it doesn't affect the quality of other components in any way (the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review says this). And he gives out quality only in especially ideal conditions. Because as soon as the channel is compressed, then the quality drops to the same, which provides SBS, for example. And given the obstacles to the flow, walls, your body, etc., creating ideal conditions is impossible in everyday life. And to fully support the same FLAC, you need a normal DAC and an amplifier, which are quite problematic to stick into small headphones (in fact, impossible). the same galaxy buds plus will be of better quality
Galaxy buds plus even before the first version of Sennheiser Momentum TW in sound quality as before Paris. The fact that it has ceased to be mediocre as just in the galaxy buds does not mean that it has surpassed the Sennheiser Momentum TW - the absolute leader in sound quality at the moment among ALL TW headphones. Ps: I have both Sennheiser Momentum TW and Galaxy buds plus, so I know what I'm talking about
Well, tell me in more detail then, what did you dislike about galaxy buds +? I just had the first buds and sounded much better to me than Momentum TW. And you say that even Buds + is better than TW2))
Find Axel Rudy Pell “Ashes from the Oath” in flac and listen to TW and Buds, Buds plus at the same volume, even the fact that my smartphone supports the samsung scalable codec does not save both types of Buds. Even with the dynamic equalizer settings, the sound is like from under a pillow - the middle and low frequencies are lifted, instead of the detail is porridge.
I don’t know, hip hop was good in them. But of course true wireless 2 is better than buds +, everything is clear here)
awesome unexpected conclusion from the whole text in the last sentence OUT OF THE BOARD)))) OKKKKK
And what is their sound quality compared to the first version? Did it happen that they increased the operating time due to the deterioration in sound quality?
Not observed. Better sound quality than the first momentum tw. As I already wrote, rock sounds great without flaws, decently clean, everything is fine with the stage too. Sennheiser did a great job here, both with sound and with the time of work)
I apologize for a banal question.
And what is the difference with AirPods Pro (I'm going to listen to Apple Music streaming via IPhone)?
The headphones are similar in many ways, Sennheiser described in detail in the review. If you are going to use in conjunction with an iPhone, then it is better to buy AirPods Pro, but for everyday use I would choose Momentum True Wireless 2)
